Shopping Day! We decided to check out the highly-touted Platinum Fashion Mall – it was just as busy inside as it was outside. We zipped quickly through the 6 floors which were packed with endless rows of small shops, selling everything from clothing to fashion accessories. The concept of a wholesale mall is interesting - you get a real bargain when you buy in larger quantities, usually meaning at least 2 items. The price comes down by anything between 20-50% per piece, depending on the item and your bargaining power (and patience!). Most shops allow you to mix different items so you don’t end up with two or more of the same items. We grabbed an efficient lunch at the food court on the 5th floor.

Audrey was awarded the Carrie Bradshaw title by Lilian, who was quite awed by this princess’ penchant for shopping for everything from shoes to clothes and accessories… We probably could’ve done more pocket damage if not for the exhausted boys..*LOL* !

We headed to Central Chitlom for a bit of a breather. Central is a large department store that feels a lot like the shopping malls back in Singapore. Relative to the busy-ness at Platinum, Central Chitlom was quiet and very comfortable.

Scrumptious @ Greyhound Cafe

We walked around a bit and bought some things before settling down for an early dinner at Greyhound Cafe, a chic outlet serving Thai-Italian fusion food. Another excellent recommendation from Lilian.

We ordered the very unique Complicated Noodles – you eat it by wrapping the square noodle sheets (like kway teow) in the lettuce leaves, topped with some of the yummy spicy tangy minced pork sauce.

We also had the Italian Clam & Mussel Soup, which came with slabs of toasted bread to mop up every scrumptious bit of the tomato and basil soup, fresh clams and mussels. The kids enjoyed the baked Penne Al Pomodoro with Ham & Cheese, which had a generous topping of melted cheese.

Greyhound was quite the perfect place for a relaxed meal to round off our day of walking!
